Also known as "kabulca" among the public: Harvest of ancestral seeds has begun

Einkorn, one of the rare grains that can be grown without pesticides or fertilizers and considered the ancestor of wheat, has been in high demand abroad in recent years.

Harvested with combine harvesters, einkorn is particularly popular with consumers interested in local and organic farming. Farmers expressed satisfaction with this year's yield.

Another producer, Yasin Ciğerci, said, "Einkorn is very valuable to farmers because it is an ancestral seed with a 12,000-year history that has survived to the present day without any genetic deterioration. We are continuing this tradition in İhsangazi."
